What Have we Achieved so Far?

Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to make the Heads Up Therapies allotment more accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone who visits. It's been a labour of love, and we’re excited to share the progress we’ve made and give you a sneak peek into what's coming next.

Widening Paths: Making Space for Everyone

Green spaces are naturally difficult to navigate and the existing allotment that we inherited was not designed with accessibility in mind, so our first task was to widen existing pathways to improve the space for our clients. In the new year we have plans to expand into a new area which will be designed with access in mind to ensure that this project is accessible to all.

A New Toilet: More Comfort and Convenience

As part of our ongoing project, Ryders Farm agreed to install a brand-new, fully accessible toilet which is now complete and we are absolutely thrilled with this accomplishment!

Raised Planters: Growing with Ease

Using recycled materials kindly donated to us, we were able to install two new raised planting beds which allow various working heights for clients with different needs and abilities.

What's Next: Expansion

Over the coming months, we’ll be expanding our allotment into a new field, which we will designed with access as our focus. Wider pathways, raised beds, and extra seating areas, all designed to make it easier for everyone to enjoy the benefits of being outdoors and involved in nature.

Growing for the Future: Selling Our Produce

One of the most exciting plans we have is to start selling our produce in the next growing season. We’ve been so impressed with how much our clients have learned and contributed to the allotment, and we’re eager to turn that hard work into something special. Not only will this provide a sense of accomplishment, but it will also give our clients the opportunity to be a part of the process from seed planting to harvesting and selling.

The Future

As we look ahead to the next few months, we’re filled with excitement about the possibilities. Every step is part of our ongoing effort to create a community and environment that is truly inclusive.
