Meet Our New Occupational Therapist - Simon Blakemore

We are delighted to welcome a highly experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to our team.

With a strong clinical background in neurological rehabilitation, they bring extensive experience supporting individuals with complex conditions including acquired brain injury, stroke, and other neurological disorders. Their work spans both inpatient and community settings across the UK and internationally, most recently practising in New Zealand.

They specialise in delivering person-centred, goal-focused rehabilitation, helping individuals regain independence and re-engage in meaningful daily activities. Their approach combines clinical expertise with creativity, ensuring that every intervention is tailored to the unique needs, goals, and circumstances of each client.

Clinical Expertise

  • Neurological rehabilitation (brain injury, stroke, complex neuro conditions)
  • Functional, cognitive, and environmental assessments
  • Vocational rehabilitation and return-to-work planning
  • Complex case management and MDT coordination
  • Equipment provision and discharge planning
  • Medical-legal report writing

They have held senior roles within specialist neuro-rehabilitation services, managing complex caseloads and playing a key role in multidisciplinary team planning, goal setting, and safe discharge back into the community. They are also experienced in mentoring junior staff and supporting students in clinical practice.

Their international experience has further strengthened their ability to work collaboratively with case managers, insurers, employers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring coordinated and outcome-focused care.
